It's the same color as our Subaru - a burgundyish red.

The old tandem has been for sale since we ordered the new one.

That's really neat! Do you ride tandem often? I always think of you as putting in the miles solo for your tri competitions.

We bought our first tandem in 2002 and for about a year our only road riding was on the tandem. Then we bought singles and discovered that the tandem really did not fit us so well. I did my first 200K on the back of the tandem and thought I was NEVER EVER going to ride that far again.

I don't know how many 200Ks I've done since - 12 to 15 I guess and six double centuries. All on my single, because it fits. That's why we ordered a custom tandem. We're really close in height and a stock tandem just isn't set up for that.

We LOVED riding the tandem together. I don't mind giving up control and I do like going fast. So we're pretty excited that it's nearly done.
