Shiloh is a cutie. How about a German Shorthaired Pointer or a Wirehaired Pointer? They have that color pattern.

What about the ears, though? Setters have that color pattern and silky ears. He has border collie ears underneath that fringe. But some sort of bird dog is probably right. Is there such a thing as a squirrel dog?

Well, the other thing if you think there's border collie, where there's border collie there's usually blue heeler. Cow dog "accidents" are pretty common depending where you live. Blue heelers have a pretty dominant color pattern and Shiloh is sure sporting it. You can get a DIY DNA kit for anywhere from $100-$150. If you're the curious. I'm dying to know what Lucky is but for that kind of money I'm happy just to love her.

That was the first guess, but I'm not convinced. First off, blue heelers do have brown in them, usually on their legs. Not a smidgen here. And they have short coats, but Shiloh's is not really short. And the ears, well, they are what they are. He also has huge paws, and blue heelers typically have very small paws for some reason. Image Google English Setter and you'll see the resemblance in alot of ways. On the other hand, he has a rather dingo-ish bark-howl thing.

A DNA test would settle it, but I'm not going to spend the money now, and I rather like speculating. Plus, the DNA tests will probably tell me he's part Shizu or something.

And another thing, Shiloh's from Texas. So I figure there's all sorts of hunting dogs in Texas (and cowdogs, and sheepdogs...)

Giovanna--beautiful dogs! I really wanted a pit, especially a blue one if I could find one in rescue, but my homeowner's insurance would have gone up, so I decided not go go that route (and I'm delighted with my sheepdog!). But they are gorgeous!

Ivana, that is one cool cat. I can't imagine getting clothes on a cat!

Thank you and yes especially Gizmo is a rascal which causes problems for Buddy.
