Sort of. I developed an ingrown toenail after the Nike marathon, got it taken care of today.

How long will it take for the nail to grow back in?

He didn't take the whole nail off, just the side that was ingrown. I think he said it wouldn't grow back, so I'll have a 3/4 nail from now on. So much for my foot modeling career......

Hmmmm and I thought this was the The Link the photo game thread!

Then I thought you needed a new bolt through your neck!

Joking apart, hope it is not too painful.

First one end, and now the other. Snap you are sneaky.

I think toe nails do grow back, just takes a long time - several months. But if you wore those slippers (?) that Clock found, I'm sure you countine your foot modeling career while waiting for your nail to grow out.

If you ever get another one in the future, put powered alum on it (stuff it in the nailbed on the area where it's ingrown). I know it sounds odd, and I made fun of my dad for doing it. But I later found out it works like a champ. The alum makes it shrink up.

Hope yours heals fast. Does this mean you get extra time off work?

Nope. the bit where the nail root has been removed doesn't grow back. least ways, my removed sliver of toenail hasn't, and it's been over 25 years. But it's not a problem. Toe works fine, looks normal, even in sandals.
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

No extra time off, I'm quite mobile, with a teeny limp. Chloe and I can limp around together, me with my toe, her with her arthritic elbow. Duck is correct, the Dr. did something to kill the nail where it was removed.
