Hi all,
This is so ridiculous it's cool and I just had to share it with all of you. When I was off work (and my bike) for that month with my knee I really got into my new hobby of tying knots and creating jewelry and other useful things out of the cord I was working with. Well, I learned to make leashes and some other small things. Took them to work to show my friend what they looked liked and my coworkers saw them liked them and get this...paid me to make them some! Seriously! I had no idea what to tell them they cost but they paid me to make them some. It's so strange! But cool. Anyway, just wanted to share. One guy paid me to make him some zipper pulls and a thing to hang from his rear view mirror...he wanted them in WVU colors. It was awesome. Anyway, just thought it was cool and funny. Talk to you later.
Have a great day,
Gray

I second the pictures request!
As RequestedPlease excuse the quality of the photos, I'm still trying to figure out the camera. The red one is one of the bracelets I was making and "selling" to raise money for the HeartWalk back in October.

Very cool! I used to make a lot of friendship type bracelets, and the hemp for necklaces with *just knots*.What kind of cord did you use for these? Looks almost like rattail. You did a great job!
Thanks! The read cord is 550 paracord and the other colors are 450 parachute cord. It's fun stuff and really useful, too. I never ever thought I'd have cause to actually use it, but when the straps broke on my bike rack for my car, I had to unravel the bracelet I'd been wearing and use it to tie to my bike to the rack.Pretty handy stuff.

That is really sturdy cord then! Where do you get that kind of cord, I can't imagine going into any craft shop and them carrying it.![]()

Cool, thanks! Not that I need another craft project at the moment. I really like the looks of your *knots* so will keep it in mind! Be sure to post all your other items. You could even sell your stuff on Etsy!
What is Esty? Well, some of them are knots others are weaves. I haven't gotten a picture of it yet, but I used a Turk's head knot on my hiking stick for a handle and I'm kind of thinking of putting those on the ends of my bike handle bars, probably in bright orange. That would be interesting. Anyway, I'll keep you posted. It really is just a hobby, but I enjoy it and while it can be frustrating, mostly it's fun and relaxing.

Etsy is a site where you can sell hand made items.
Those are very cool! I love the bright colors!

I was going to mention Etsy as well. It's a sales site for crafters.
I have a bracelet a little like the one you made, for the same reason. I keep my RoadID on it, and a watch. If I need it for cordage, though, it's still a useful tool!
I do something called fingerloop braiding. String is fun!
Nice!
I love the idea of wearing a bracelet to keep handy a piece of emergency string!
