I say, if you feel you need something lighter then carbon-work a little harder to make your legs that little bit stronger. A little sweat won't hurt.

When it comes to the small details, weight has nothing to do with performance.

    * Yes you are absolutly correct, I know hard work, I was a professional ballet dancer in the theater's all over the world for 20 years...Yes I work my leg's hard, I am riding with the fast guy's /race dudes. My reason I put this post here, one of the raceteam guy's where teasing me with the carbon cages. So I will have to check what he has on his bike, I will let you girl's know... I am sure he is just a bigmouth and want's to make him more important...there are some people out there they are very jugemental what you wear, have and so on...I have been mountainbiking for many many years, and I started road biking a couple of years ago, and I realy don't care if I have full carbon that or this, the most important thing for me is "having fun biking"!So thank's for all the post, there are some funny one... I love the helium...Be saveResi

I use Giant's carbon cages and I really like them . I have used fancier ones, but these are sturdy and easy to get in and out of. I have had the same set for over a year now, so they have tons of miles on them and they have not lost there hold and look new still. As long as you don't have the metal cheap cages, don't worry! Cages are sort of like bikes- there are a million different kinds and people are particular to their certain brand. The Trek person might like Bontrager, since it is what their shop probably sells, etc.
