Hey guys, I'm from LA. Does anyone have any healthy snack recommendations for breakfast? One I like is Fage yogurt with granola and honey.
Are we talking breakfast options or mid-morning snacks? Just not sure what you mean by breakfast snacks.
I personally love Dannon Lit and Fit Plus yogurt, 60 calories plus extra calcium. The blueberry flavor is my favorite. I also love the Kashi bars (Honey Almond Flax) which only have 140 calories, 4 gm fiber, and are very filling.
I like to buy the flattened bananas from Trader Joes. They may look awful but they taste great. They work out great on rides too because they take up so little room in a back pocket or pack (in a sandwich bag of course). I cut them up and mix them with nuts and raisins to take to work to snack on. Awesome snack and healthy. Also like the other dried fruits like Blueberries, litchi nuts and mango.. And you can throw handfuls of the stuff in your hot or cold cereal without guilt.

With the caveat that I am on a nutritionist-planned diet for weight loss;
For breakfast I eat 2 oz protein, 1 oz carb, and 1 serving of fruit.
Today it was 1 egg, 1 oz of fish, a little rice ball and an Asian pear.
Tomorrow it will likely be 2 eggs and a biscuit, a banana or berries.
For my midmorning snack I am supposed to have a serving of fruit, but usually have an ounce or so of trail mix.
Trader Joe's has "just a handful" packs of trail mix with no junk, and of almonds, both of which are quite helpful.
As a caveat, I eat from a basic dietary pattern set up for us by a registered dietician. My breakfast is (I weigh instead of measure, easy) 60 grams of steel cut oats (soaked overnight in H20) with 30 grams nuts and a cup of vanilla soy milk. (well, it's easier to measure liquids). Mid-morning break food is the little container of Fage non-fat yogurt with 30 grams of "simply the best" trail mix from Trader Joes. Most of my meals and snacks are 300 to 400 calories. The pre-soaked oatmeal cooks up real fast in the microwave - I put in the water to cover it in a little glass casserole, and in the am just pop it in the microwave - when it's done, dump on the nuts and milk - gobble up and out the door for the dawn patrol dog walk, then off to work. Everyone at work is cold in the am when they get there - but not me! good breakfast and 3 mile trot around town and I am good to go! I love the Fage yougurt, but I can't eat it right before strenuous exercise. Turkey sandwich is much better for before exercise. And would be a good am snack too! Tokie
It's not fair, so many times you guys talk about different things and they are just not available in the UK, just came across the following:
I work as a captain for TJs and sadly an international TJs will never happen. TJs is all about great food for great prices and if we went international wed have to raise them.

Clock, as I understand it, there aren't Trader Joe's in every state of the US either. when friends move out of state, it's a common question "do you have a Trader Joe's there?" My friends who moved to Hawaii always stock up on TJ favorites to take home when they come back to visit! It is a great store! tokie
I used to live in CA...man, I miss Trader Joes.
We went to Washington DC in October and there was a Trader Joes across the street. I walked over there and got goodies every day I was there.
The awesome thing about Trader Joes is that they have great prices on unique things that would cost 2-3x that in other specialty stores.
Clock - LOL!!!!![]()
My family thinks I'm crazy but whenever I go on a car trip somewhere, I look to see if there is a Trader Joe's anywhere in the vicinity and then I proceed to stock up!
