The young fella who works for me does the "go to bed at 3am-get up at 11am" thing. It works well for us because he covers the later shift. We were talking about it and realized it's not that one of us sleeps more than the other...we just do it at different times of the day.

    You crazy Canucks!!!

One of my best friends is Canadian, she can't sleep in for the most part. She's up by 8am (after a late night out) and already working on some paper of some sort for class.

I on the other hand, it depends upon the day. I used to not be able to sleep in. I used to feel horrible about it. I was on the rowing team in college, and so waking up at 5:30 am was sleeping in. Now that I am finishing up my last semester as a Resident Assistant (which requires me to be up until midnight everynight for different reasons), I can sleep in quite well. hehe.... let go of the guilt. doing it every weekend, i dont promote... but sometimes, a late sunday sleeping in (and if you have someone to share it with, it's quite nice) can be just what teh doctor orders.

relax..... block out the light in your room. body needs sleep almost more than it needs food.

I'm a total night owl and always have been. I have tried to adjust to an early-to-bed-early-to-rise schedule more than once, but I just wind up tired and cranky because my body never gets used to waking up early. I love sleeping late and do it whenever possible. If I have to get up before 10 on a weekend, that's early for me. I never feel guilty about sleeping late. It's not wasting the day if I feel refreshed and happy when I finally do roll out of bed.

I sleep in til about 7:30/ 8 on the weekends and it feels great. It may only be and extra hour or so from when I get up for work on the weekdays but to me it is heaven. I have no desire to sleep more than that- there is too much I want to do on the weekends! I am naturally a morning person and like getting things done early!
