    Some spin bikes have two sided pedals, one for looks and one for SPDs, and then adaptors with cages for those with sneakers.

    Don't trust the gym people. When I first called the gym that I went to for spinning for a while, I asked about spd pedals and they said no, they didn't have them. Of course they did but the guy I got on the phone was clueless.

    Some gyms let you bring your own pedals (and saddle+seatpost) - that depends on the bikes.
