Procrastinating.... Was hoping to do a 25 mile ride today (my first) but I'm somehow not getting up. I'm all dressed, the bike is ready, I've had a bite to eat ... and yet... here I am.

Maybe if I just procrastinate another 10 minutes....

Sitting here....at my desk.....procrastinating on the TE forums I'll trade ya!

In all seriousness, my rule of thumb for these days is this: Go out for 10 minutes, 1 mile, whatever. If, after that 10 minutes, you're still miserable and unmotivated, it's ok to go home. I'm not a pro, I don't get paid to ride, so I want my time on the bike to be fun. If I'm not feeling it, it's ok.

rhyme - you are surrounded by gorgeous butterflies in many different colours and they are flittering around your whole self and all around your face and they won't get out of your way until you get out on your bike! You know you want to!

(as I try to get awake enough to go get dressed for work)

    Hugs and butterflies,

    The butterflies are within you.

I'm a guy. I'm not sure that one makes me feel more masculine and ready to ride

    But seriously, I'm leaving now.

Soooo... How'd it go? I'm always much more happy that I went for a ride than sad about it. I'm a really mean person if I don't get to go, even if I was feeling lazy and not wanting to go.

    I did it!

But oh man, my legs feel like jello, and im absolutely exhausted... the way there was completely fine - 13 miles or so in about 60 minutes (maybe even a little slow for me), the way back was horrible - a constant 10 mile an hour headwind - maybe more in some spots by the lake - made it downright exhausting on the way back. The return trip took me an hour and 20. I feel completely drained.... I didn't think it was going to be that hard, but wow.

Ok I just checked, according to the weather station right by the lake, the wind is about 12.5 to 15mph totally dead on - that'll do it.

Well, at least I made it.

I was like this yesterday. I had planned a long mtb ride for 2 hours. Instead, I did 1 hour of a very slow going technical trail. Today I'm really ready for a 2+ hour ride looking for a lost horse. That's another story....
