    It's Eden's fault we're broke

Steadily whittling away at the piggy bank buying up Miyazaki films. Yup, your fault.

Just watched Spirited Away tonight. I am blown away.

Last night it was "Kiki's Delivery Service" and a while back "Castle in the Sky." I remember telling Bubba several months ago that we should buy the boxed set.

That's what started it. Then Eden told us about the rest.

I did NOT get that movie (Spirited Away). It was a mythology that just didn't resonate with me.

What a delightful way to go broke!

I think that Princess Mononoke is his opus. It's not a kids movie and has some rather violent scenes, but it is more beautiful than any other animated film I've ever seen. It doesn't hurt that it has a good story too.

I think that one is next on the list. Or should we save the best for last? Decisions, decisions.

Would you buy "My Neighbor Tortoro?" Didn't you say that was a children's film? Maybe I should try to catch it on TV somehow, someday.

Which reminds me. "Eureka" returns to the SciFi channel tonight.

Totoro is very sweet and both the story and animation are child themed and child friendly - though not to say that adults would not enjoy it as well. When we bought it, unfortunately on an English dub was available. I'd love to see it in its original language some time - I think since they might have released it that way.

One thing that make it quite interesting to watch is that there are elements that he uses in the film that reappear in later movies. The dust/ash spirits make an appearance and there is are some elements that reminded me of Kiki too.
