Sounds like a pretty complex set of rules. No wonder I've never been taught. They must have thought that it would take too long for me to catch on

On a side note, when I was little and it was still politically correct, the schools would send home various paperwork for my parents to sign (like permission slips, etc) and one of the questions would be:
    "Is your child mentally retarded?"
My mom or dad would, of course, mark or answer "no"
    Anyhow.................
For a period of time I was pretty sure that I was mentally retarded and they didn't want me to know, so they would mark "no" to cover things up. I had no reason to think that I was, no special ed or special bus. In fact I was a straight "O" student. But, I reasoned that if you were mentally retarded, people wouldn't want you to know or it would hurt your feelings. And if your were mentally retarded, you wouldn't know anyhow because you'd be too mentally retarded to know that you were retarded!
    So............................
That's why I never learned to play Marco Polo!!!!

Can one have too many pairs of cycling shoes? I purchased my first pair of Sidi's last year brand new...fell in love. Purchased 2 pair this year- a beater and bulky sock day- off of ebay, ever so lightly used for less than half. I am lusting after the white ones now..oh my, will this addiction stop? My Dh has no idea about the ebay shoes, I am starting to let my addiction take over! Who knows, maybe I will have to get a bike to go with every pair of shoes..

I used to believe my brother when he said I was adopted and no one wanted to tell me. That is why I was the only blond you see.

I want new mountain shoes so I can wear some commuting and some to play in the dirt. I ride the same pedals for commuting and dirt but still I NEED two pairs.

I put new bar tape on my bike, just for change. I don't like the color once it is unrolled and wrapped around my bars, I feel a little bummed about that.

I used to think I was adopted, surely! (No thanks to my bro, all my doing). Bro= 6'3", insanely skinny, blond, blue eyes. Me= 5'7" (by far the shortest in my family), I guess what one would call curvy or good eastern european stock, dark hair, eyes, skin. I now understand the genetics and our very muttly ancestry, but I used to imagine that I really had a different name and siblings, etc out there somewhere. Maybe it was just wishful thinking on days the 'rents and bro were being annoying!

We had a red squirrel at our bird feeder last night. I sat and watched him for like 20mins. I've only ever caught a glimpse of one before. His tail was this gorgeous fiery orange. I like our house by the woods.

My DH's co said there was a job at a site in another state (about 4 hours away), double pay, bonuses into the retirement fund weekly. They'd put him up in a hotel and he'd be home weekends. Short or long term (like, he could do a month.)

I'm amazed... no wait, he's amazed, at how quickly I said, "you should do it!"

Years ago I would have said, "oh please don't go! I need you home every night!"

    Plus, more $$$ for shoes.

drifting along dreaming about possible nights catching up on all the frock flicks and Masterpiece Theatre episodes he won't watch with me....
I can do five more miles.

Sometimes a little separation is a good thing. Good that it can be short term - you'll appreciate it more when he's back home

I just got all my hair cut off. I'm almost completely gray now.

    I want ORANGE shoes.

Can new tires actually make you faster? (or fatter?)

Hmmm. I need a haircut too. So does my little guy.

Used to be sure I was adopted. Mostly because nobody in my family liked the same things I liked. (Sports, horses, the muisc I liked).

It is 93 degrees here in sunny upstate NY this afternoon! It should be a fun bike ride home!!

I'm getting a trim & highlights tomorrow. Lots of new greys. I figure every hot flash sprouts a grey hair.

How many calories does one hot flash use?

In that case I should have been completely gray five years ago.
