    and has pretty short legs. I'd say he's about 5'7"

    (he lives in newton BTW)

    He's also into historical items.....

    Is it too rusted?

    The frame looks pretty good. I'd worry about that rusty headset lock nut and whether it will come off and if you can find a replacement. The rusty rims can be replaced. Hubs are probably fine. Bottom bracket could be a bear to open. Not sure if you'll find brakes that will work or if the current ones can be made usable. But if he's into historical items, this would certainly be a cool thing to own. Good thing he lives in Newton, because Harris Cyclery is probably the best place in the country to look for parts.
    Oil is good, grease is better.
