I was in analysis paralysis, but pretty set on a pair of Frogs, about a year ago - when a cycling friend got me a pair of Candy C's and I've never looked back.

Way to go FurryDuck! There's no shame in walking some hills....I live in a very hilly area, and have to walk a few of them! I am going to the LBS tomorrow and I'm getting my shoes and pedals. Don't ask me what I've picked out, cause I can't remember, but they're easy in easy out ones. I'm such a natural klutz, this whole pedal thing should be interesting!

way to go on your ride!!! And I'm glad the mountain bike pedals work for you. I have SPD's too. They are wonderful! I've never had an issue getting out of them!

I ride SPD's on everything. Love them!

Congrats on the ride!! As everyone has said - there is NO shame in walking hills!! Shoot, I was reading the Race Across America blog, and one of the RAAM riders walked some hills. Most of us have done it at one time or another. And sooner or later, those hills get easier (or so they say...)

Analysis paralysis! You sound like me. Currently debating between Frogs, Time ATAC and Eggbeaters for my commuter bike.

LBS has Eggbeaters in stock, and my mechanic recommended them. I have Speedplay X2s on my road bike & like the float and how easy they are to unclip from, so I've been leaning towards the Frogs. My bike is probably going to be ready (mechanic is building it up) today or tomorrow.

I think I'm going to go with Eggbeaters because they are in stock, plus I can bring them back and blame my mechanic if I (or my knees) hate them.

Thanks for all the congrats i was well pleased with myself for completing it and raised £1150.00 for our local hospice as well as what all the other riders raised. Going to train on a 25% hill at the weekend in preparation for our trip to the Alpe de Heuz later in the year, then off to sunny Florida in Dec, cant wait.
If you don't want to know the answer.............. Don't ask the question
