Well, my mountain bike is a k2 WSD, and I like it pretty well. I didn't select it initially (I work for a biiiiig outdoor retail company and got it when a customer returned it, as we can't resell used bikes to anyone but employees for liability reasons). However, it fits nicely, and I'm such a mtb beginner that it works with my minimal skills. I have the Echo- it's a hardtail with disc brakes. I have a few nitpicks about the placement of some of the hardware on the frame, but functionally it works. I don't have any experience with the road bikes, but k2 is a good company and they tend to build pretty solid gear- they are better known for their skis/snowboards.
