I felt the need to revive this thread today, since there seems to be a lot of tension in the air today.
I'm glad my dad's still hanging on. He's one tough cookie. He's lived his life on his terms, with music, love and the greatest joy for life of anyone I know. I hope he gets to go home from the hospital soon (but not too soon, my stepmother needs a break!). He seems to be getting things all wrapped up for a good end to what's been an interesting and fun filled life. He always followed his heart, whether it was the right thing to do or not, and I understand and respect that! It's left him with some regrets, but maybe it's better to have regret for what you did than what you didn't do.
I'm happy to have heard from my long lost half-brother yesterday. We hadn't spoken in 20 years. I was just a kid last time he saw me. We never had a fallout or anything, just circumstances never brought us together until now. Well, I'm glad he's still my brother. We had a good talk. I'm glad he reconciled with our father. He's going to be glad he did, too.
