Thanks for the good wishes and admiration! My new bike is root beer colored. Gotta be honest, I really liked the orange on the other Masi Speciale, but the versatility of the Commuter won me over. And it is a really rich brown, so I am very happy with this color.

Sundial - I am taking a year off and then off to grad school in Boston for Publishing (that is the current plan, at least). And if I don't ride how am I supposed to relieve the stress?

I don't consider someone to be addicted to buying bikes until they have at least 5 bikes.
I have two, so plenty of leeway there.

I think it's smart to buy a dedicated commuter bike aside form your usual fun bike. Ideally, they need to be set up pretty differently for the two different uses anyway, unless you don't ride much overall (and what commuter doesn't ride much?).

    ENJOY!!!!!

5 bikes? Whew! Even counting my Schwinn Sting-Ray Fairlady I am under that. I will stop worrying about interventions from friends and family. Hopefully no one ever invites me mountain biking or I suspect my sewing room will be converted to bike storage.

So five is the magic number? Sounds good to me. That means I'm perfectly normal - but I better start looking for a support group for DH. He apparently has a SERIOUS problem. And now I can see his method - he's just like a drug dealer suggesting I should try one more. Thanks to him I'm creeping up on the magic number myself.

On the bright side, the only thing that suffers from this addiction is the garage. And we are doing our part to support the economy which makes the addiction down right patriotic.

    five? Uh oh!

Do the two I bought for the grandkids to ride when they're here count?

If so, Hi, my name is Karen, and I'm a bike addict.

If not, well what the heck, my name is still Karen, and I have no problem -- with bikes anyway!

Holding at four. I guess I need to quit looking at Craigslist to keep my addiction under control!

Hmmm, I've got 3 now. 1 older road bike (my rainy day bike), 1 zippy road bike, and 1 mountain bike. So....what bikes should one have in a family of 5?

I personally own 1, going on 2 in a week here...but if you take a look at my garage, I believe the last count was at 22? This includes about 3 frames. LOL. My dad collects/fixes up old bikes :] It's great to see peoples faces when they walk into the garage...

Well, a folding bike would put you up to four.

LOL! I can just see me on a pocket bike. I would look like a Shriner riding a mini scooter.

A time trial bike would help. Let's see, I have 1 zippy road bike, 1 mountain bike, 1 touring bike. I guess I need the time trial bike and, hmmmm, how does one get up to 5? Wouldn't really use a folding bike. Probably wouldn't use a hybrid. I'm not sure I can get there from here. I've been drooling over the Trek and Jamis websites (a Madone or a Xenith Pro), but if I did it, I'd have to sell the 5200. I think I'd better drive hours and hours to get a professional fitting, and then wait a couple of years.

2 bikes - why 2 bikes are barely enough to get by!
