I really like the Shebeest triple S shorts - nice fabric, a great chamois, and a bit less pricey than others. I thin they're also a little shorter than other shorts...

They're low rise, but not absurdly so. I rode the MS ride in them last year and was quite comfortable for 80 *very hot* miles. (had a tropical storm the next day).

Thanks for the recommendation. I found them on STP for $50! I'm scheduled to do 65 miles tomorrow with some hard core riders...who may just kill me :lol and I'll put them to the test.
