My official time was 4:08:41, good enough for Gold, but I had a flat right before Usery Pass and my pump didn't work, so I had to wait for a good samaritan to stop and loan me his CO2. That ate up 7-8 minutes.
I think I'm going to aim for Platinum at TTM. I believe it's doable if I can get with the right crowd!

thats what i'm thinking too, get with the right group. i used to be a pushover, i'd find a wheel then we'd pass a group and someone would jump on and take the wheel i was following. this year i was way more aggressive, when someone tried to butt in i just wouldn't let em. they can get behind me!

so sorry about the flat. you did a great time for having a flat!

i was waiting at the last turn for hubby and some poor guy flatted right there, i think i would've rode in on the flat!

Small world. My brother finished just behind you at 4:08:52, according to the results page. Did you notice a tall skinny guy trying desperately to hang on your wheel, by any chance ?

Hey Kim! An older gentleman and I pulled each other for the last 6 miles, but not a "tall, skinny guy"!

Will your brother be doing tour of the Tucson Mountains? Does he live out this way?

He's in Chandler. He didn't mention the Tucson ride, but I don't think he likes to drive far for rides. He and my SIL ride South Mountain a lot, though. I'll have to tell him to be on the lookout for AV and BJ jerseys.
