I cut my left thumb uncorking a bottle of wine last night. Because my husband was yelling at me. I simply can't be yelled at and operate a complex piece of machinery like a corkscrew at the same time.

It's still bleeding and to add to the confusion, my dog Earl cracked a toenail while birdwatching this morning and now I can't tell whose blood I keep finding on the floor--mine or Earl's.

And I need a tetanus shot.

Good enough excuse to drink the rest of the bottle of wine.

Why is it so difficult for the cashier to take off the save $2.00 now sticker off of the item she scanned? Does she think that I can now not only put all of my groceries on the belt, run my own credit card, load my own groceries into my cart, take my own groceries to my car, bring the cart back AND now REMEMBER the coupons??? What's next? When do I start stocking shelves?

    and

I am glad for Sunday - the unwind day.

    A canner exceedingly canny
One morning remarked to his granny
A canner can can anything that he can
But, a canner can't can a can, can he?

    Makes sense, right?

From the tombstone of Effie Mae Robinson, aged 23:

Come blooming youths as you pass by
And on these lines do cast an eye.
As you are now, so once was I.
As I am now, so must you be.
Prepare for death and follow me.

    Someone added to this:

To follow you, I am not content.
How do I know which way you went?

Here's one. This is old. I have no idea who wrote it.

    --------------

I wish I was a little egg, a way up in a tree.
I wish I was a little egg, as rotten as I could be.
And when someone I didn't like would walk beneath my tree,
I'd take my little rotten self and throw myself at he!

Do you make your own creme fraiche? And if so, how?

I resemble that remark. How'd they know? "It's all MINE and I ain't sharing!"

I forgot to add that thed Rubenesque woman on the label, clutching the wine barrel is naked. Now, SGTiger... I've seen you drink a bit this seems a little over the top, even for you - teasing.

There are varying types and degrees of disability. Even blind and quadriplegic people can find some type of work. If we relied on a meager disability payment we would all be living in cardboard boxes under the bridge.

I'm wondering why this weather has to be so weird this year. Two days of cold two days of hot, two days of wind, two day of not.
If it could just make up it's mind one way or the other, at least I could figure out what to do.

I was looking outside, and we already need to mow the weeds. I have one tree that looks good and blooming out, and one that isn't and I'm so sad and confused as to why it died if it is or whats wrong if it isn't dead.
