Umm if your animal could speak..what would it say?

What 'choo talkin' 'bout? My new dog Ruby CAN speak.

She barks when she has to poop, she whines when she has to pee, and she cries when she wants food or attention. Three very different sounds for the various activities.

(Sometimes it's quite annoying, like at 5 am when she's barking her way down the back steps and the neighbor yells "a$$ho!e" at me. Now we do our morning poop out the front door on a leash. )

OK.. snow on the ground this am, so back at the trainer.

My lab kept licking her paw this morning, and I found a huge puss filled abscess in between her toes -- spent an hour convincing her to let me soak it in epsom salts and open it and flush it out for drainage. Now have to get her some antibiotics. Poor girl! Flushed out some plant material, so hopefully that's all that is in there. I have NO doubt what she was saying to me through all of it!

Had an excellent dinner last night of good wine, cheese, flank steaks and grilled tequila marinated shrimp, grilled asparagus, more wine, home made chocolate cream pie, more wine... Hmm it's amazing I remember the food with all the wine we drank!

The sun is OUT!!!!!! Oh... now it is gone.

Met some really great TE gals yesterday!

I get to see BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN tomorrow night in Vancouver BC. WHOOPEE!

Have lots of laundry to do.

I made brownies today for a party.
Had a devil of a time trying to get them out of the pan! They ended up peeling away from the edge of the pan, so I brought a plate full of the brownie "middles" and the crusty stuff along the edges...well, that didn't pass inspection and I had to eat it right out of the pan!
But that's okay...I totally prefer the edges of brownies to the middle. Corner pieces are the most coveted.
So...for you.... brownie edges ... or brownie middle??

I found a harness that finally keeps Maeve (my strong 80lb golden retriever) from pulling when we walk. She would pull so hard she could tow me up some huge hills in our neighborhood and she occasionally gave me shin splints. This harness is the Holy Grail for a dog with poor leash manners. We've been having some good walky-walks. Used to be loathe to walk her since she was so difficult to manage.

Fiona, the 7-month old, is good on the leash, although she will lolly-gag after a bit. Sniff sniff, what's this? Stop for mommy to give a big hug and smooch on the head! She loves to get the leash in her mouth, and strut her stuff. "come with me, mommy, I in charge now!" She moves like a show dog!

There's nothing as wonderful as a golden retriever on a walk! Smiling furry face, swinging feathers, tail wagging, paws gliding.

Mine wants a walk - but it's been POURING all day here (and it's 42 degrees). Ah well. Warmer weather will be here soon

1+ on the gentle leader --- excellent way to stop pulling. Takes them a while to get used to it, but really is helpful.

This is from the person who only used it on our dog as a pup -- now I just like to complain that she pulls. Haven't done anything about it -- mostly because she rarely has to be on leash -- we live next to a nice trail and she was trained off leash much more than on leash.

Also: 1+ on the middle of the brownies! Straight out of the pan while still warm. Ooey, gooey goodness!

I have no scabs at the moment to speak of. Which is not normal. I work out in the yard so much I always have something.
My carpet needs to be cleaned that's for sure! But what is the best way to do that? And after you clean it once does it not get dirtier faster?

I can not wait for fishing season to start so I can have quite mornings to myself again. My dh love's to kayak fish. I believe it is May 1st. Yeaaaaa!
AND My dh started growing a gotee last Nov. Not sure what I think about it yet? I should post a picture and get a vote. The picture below is us this past weekend at my dh's 50th birthday! We did a big group camping trip. It was so much fun! Can't believe he is 50! Where has time gone? (there's another subject to talk about).

I like goatees. I protest loudly everytime DH shaves his off.

Pizza buffet tonight, doesn't sound good but I have a raging headache and refuse to cook. DH can hardly figure out how to make hotdogs.

The weeds are getting worse now that we got rain, looks like tomorrow night is weed pulling time whether I like it or not. And I thought I could get in a ride tomorrow- silly me.
