    I use those Specialized shims. They are great. I have stubby little fingers. They made a huge difference.

    Nice bike...yeah, those new Madones ride really nice!
    She would still need shims on the WSD?
    The Ultegra SL compact crankset would be a nice upgrade, too! I love mine - shifting is great...better than the FSA SLK-compact on my other bike.

    Thanks all, yes she is going to at least try the shims. Hers and the entry level 1.2 are the only Trek WSD's without the shims included - not sure why.

    Yes, a compact would be nice, but she likes her granny. I rode a triple years ago, but just love a double.
