The Wii is truly the most innovative system to come along in a long time. It promotes inclusion rather than exclusion. I love it!

I tell you one thing....those seniors need a bigger TV! I can barely see to read the words on small screens at my age!

    Good on your mom!

I finally got a Wii last week and I love it! Even my mom, who spent most of my childhood yelling at me to stop playing video games, gave it a try and enjoyed it. There have been quite a few stories of Wii's being put in nursing homes and the good results that have come from it. There are a few weight-loss stories, too. Anyone else wear their HRM while boxing?

I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it. Now I'm thinking hmmmmmm, maybe I should try it! LOL Boxing is a great workout for sure. I also had a sore arm from tennis. We've been calling it Wii-itus at our house.

The boxing liked to kill me! I just did one round too! HA!

That's really nice that she's enjoying the Wii and having fun in the nursing home with it!

i think that is a nice article. Its great that the center is is willing to make the purchase and get the residents involved. Beats parking them in the chairs and having them watch tv all day long. Encourages mental and physical activity which they so need.

We talked about getting one for my grandpa so he can play golf again. He used to play, but he's 83, and even though he gets around really well for his age, he can't get out on the course like he used to.

Jeez, that's a great thing for your mom, Mr. S, and for the residents in general. Wish they'd had something like that when my mom was in a nursing home. It's fantastic to see nursing home residents having such a great time!

Well, we have one too. I got ours on Christmas Eve, got in line at 4:30 AM and it was 15 degrees! Mom couldn't figure it out at our house, but it's clear that she succumbed to peer pressure! Of course, she was the youngest one in the group!

It's funny how much the difference between ages 7 and 14 makes.

But, he difference between 77 and 84...well, they're having fun!
