Nice story, snapdragon. Always wonderful to hear about successes, big and small, for people with different abilities. Every success is one to be celebrated.
A colleague of mine has high aspirations for her son. He wants to live in a flat down the road from her, have three cats and go by bus to the local supermarket to work. He's 16 now, she hopes he will have achieved all the skills necessary to achieve this by the time he is 20. If he can do this, she will be thrilled. I think the scariest thing for her is that she may die and he would become a forgotten drifter on the streets.

    Back to tear-jerking...

Anyone here read "Time Travellers Wife" by Audrey Niffenger (may have spelt her surname wrong). Thats a romance with a difference. Good book. Get out the tissues...

I have that on my stack of "books to read this summer". I'll grab the tissues before I start!

I LUUUURVE that movie (no bias at all that Anna is NZ grown, or that Canada is one of THE places I want to visit)

We have it on video and I cry every time I watch it - even though I know what is going to happen. Silly huh?

Same in Highlander (the first one) and Serendipity.... ah.... reaches for tissues...

LOL ~T~ ... there are a couple of ads over here that get me - but not any mentos ones

Snap - your story made me think of the movie "Radio". If ya'll haven't seen that - you should.

Corsair "I cry just listening to the movie scores! " Mac
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

OMG, when the Dad breaks his arm and gives the "go on, you can do this, just follow the river, fly, fly away for the geese" speach...when the little runt goose is trying to take off....when they liberate the geese and buzz the school, at the end when he shooshes the crowd with the "my daughter is out there alone speach" anytime I hear the music....plus Dana Delany is so hot...oops

oh yeah, TREK's rough, she's tough, she's done the AIDS ride....oh forget it there she goes crying about geese again
