I ordered the L and the XL in the chocolate. I will return or offer up here the one I don't keep. My Shak is out for delivery today, so I'm still not real sure about size yet.

Robyn and DebW and I admired the Pingo jackets in the Arcadian Shop. The chocolate is a very dark brown and all the Pingos were really handsome and looked great on me. But....several of us had trouble getting the two-way zipper to get started properly. Kathi, do you have the 2 way zippers on your Pingos, and if so are they easy to work? Or did they switch to a 2-way zipper more recently?
The Large Pingo fit me beautifully, so Sandra I imagine the XL will fit you (see previous Johnny Cash song post for reference).
I hope the zipper works well on yours because it's a GREAT jacket.
I am anxiously awaiting the arrival announcement of Sandra's first shak!!![]()

How about $25 for a Wooly Warm sleeveless merino top at Rivendel? Available only in men's xs, which may fit up to a couple sizes bigger. They also have a long-sleeved top for $35.

I wish my Pingos had the two-way zipper! I like being able to open a hip-length jacket even just a couple of inches at the bottom so it sits better on the bod, especially if I'm going to be sitting down. Fortunately, the Pingo is short enough to miss the widest part of my hips.....
I guess I have older models of the Pingo, because both have the single-action zipper, bottom to top only. So far, I haven't found the zippers on either jacket difficult to handle. The jackets on which I have two-way zippers are always more difficult to close---the gizmos have to be lined up *just so* to make 'em work....![]()

I have a full zip Shak from a previous year that has a two-way zipper. It has never worked very well in the two-way mode so I just use it as a single action zipper with no problems. The newer Shaks all appear to have regular one-way zippers.
I'm in LOVE already. My first Shak in thistle heather size L has arrived. I'm sitting here with it on. The fit is perfect. It is so soft, it is hard to imagine that this is wool. It is a lot lighter weight that I imagined, but for here it should be great!
My XL black cirque jacket works great over it for when the weather is colder, which is why I originally wanted another piece of Ibex. I'm not sure where the Pingo jacket will fall in here with these, but if it's anything like the other two pieces, I'm sure I'll love it too.
Knot, have you gotten the carrie hoody yet?

Yay!....Knot and Sandra are both now "shakked up"!!!
The size Large shaks fit both of you well?
Knot, I wear a medium halfzip shak, often with my Large fullzip shak over it, and then a Large green Carrie over that. I'll be interested in seeing how the Large fits you.
Sandra- the non-heaviness of the shak is what makes it so incredibly versatile. I love how it keeps me totally warm while still letting a little air circulate so I don't get overheated. It's so great on a cold day with a vest. The Carrie is just slightly thicker, making it an ideal lightweight cozy hooded zipper sweatshirt/jacket. The Carrie is not heavy or dense like loden wool at all. A Carrie over a shak and a thin base layer will keep you warm down to 15 degrees or so if you're out walking for a an hour or two.
