Man, I've been checking SAC all day (super bored here at work today) and I still missed the Ibex Vertigo? How does that happen?!?

I did score some nice Ibex for Christmas. DH bought me the Shak jersey in warm green (I would not have guessed that color would flatter me, but it does!) and my mom got DH and I EACH a $250 GC! I can't decide what I need (vs what I want!). Oh the sheer agony and joy of it...all rolled into one!

I also bought DH a few pairs of smartwool socks...so it was definitely a wooly holiday at our house!

Speaking of spending my gift certificate: Does anyone have the Carrie Full Zip Hoodie? Do you love it? I'm thinking it'll be a nice 'around the house/town' top. Yes? And then I can also don it for extra cold cycling days (that aren't all that common here)... Opinions?

    First impressions- NAU wool shirt

Ahhh, a wool short-sleeve zip neck for $19.99? Yes please! I've had my eye on NAU clothing for awhile- they seem like an interesting company, with a focus on sustainability and eco-design. www.nau.com

I ordered last night- and got my package this morning using NORMAL ground shipping! Amazing! I picked up the woolie tee off the clearance sale, and a pair of bouldering capris (non-wool). Capris I need to exchange for a smaller size, but the shirt will fit in a medium, if only because the small wouldn't fit my shoulders.

The fabric: Very light-weight stretchy wool, soft, beautiful color. I got charcoal grey, and it has almost a lavender-y sheen to it. Good as a summer-weight shirt or first layer.

Construction: Very nice. Seams are well made. The body of the shirt is quite long- it would work well for those of you with long torsos. Includes one small side zip-pocket. This is definitely an understated shirt- simple and clean. No logos or identifying anything. That's why I liked it! Would work with jeans or khakis or my climbing pants!

TrickyTiger....You're a shameless enabler, LOL! Thanks to your post, I ordered the same zip-up T in the stone and the charcoal. At that price, it's well worth trying them out......Thanks for the tip!

33 degrees F in northwest Florida when I woke up this morning! See, even Florida provides an occasional opportunity to wear wool--time to raid the cedar chest!

    Trickytiger -

Thanks for posting that Nau site! I also picked up a t for me and for my husband, but I've definitely bookmarked the site. Really interesting clothing (if a little out of my price range) and neat company. I loved picking which charity gets the 5% of my order!

Big wool news here at our house.....

My DH, who is a big wool/merino fan as well, went off by himself today doing various errands in MA.
Well whaddya know...he comes back this afternoon with a black IBEX SHAK that he bought for himself at a MA sporting goods store!!! His first Ibex piece, and he's always poked fun at my Ibex obsession, calling me an "Ibex Snob". (like there's something wrong with that?)
    http://www.ibexwear.com/shop/Product...ct=Shak-Jersey
He got a half zip Shak in black.
I ribbed him about it of course, but I am actually very pleased and I know it will work well for him and look handsome.

Funny thing is, I kept trying to get him to let me buy him a Shak for Xmas, and he kept saying he didn't want or need one, that his other wool shirts would do him just fine. Hmpf.

P.S. UncleDan's has some very good sale prices on some Ibex items right now:

for my birthday in late november, my DH bought me some Patagonia capeline underwear. (Is that right?)
Patagonia, I said? OOOO they have wool.
So we went back to the store today and I traded it in for a beautiful wool sweater!
