Smile FREE X-Country wool ski knickers

    To disable ads, please log-in.

While examining the deep dark recesses of my small closet, I found some lonely grey wool cross country ski knickers that are in very good condition. Made by REI, um, cough cough, maybe 15 years old. I haven't lived in good snow country for about that long. The size label is obviously wrong (14), they seem more like a size 10. I could measure the inside of the waist band if needed. I take care of my wool, so they aren't moth eaten (to my knowledge, but the price folks, remember the price).

So I'm offering them FREE to a good home. And heck, if they don't fit, maybe since they'll be closer to gen-u-wine snow country you'll know someone that can wear them.

I'll ship anywhere in the continental US at my cost. Beyond that, we can negociate. Proably won't ship until after Christmas. I'm trying to avoid going to the Post Office as much as possible.

PM me if you'd like to take some nice knickers out in the snow country. I miss cross country skiing. I think I must move back west...

I'm honest, really, I won't take your good wishes and lock them in a trunk, way back on a dirt road, in the back woods. Trust meeeee. On the otherhand, if you're interested in some solid ground in south Louisiana, Gulf views, we can talk.....

Mimi has first dibs, but I'd be interested if they don't fit or anything. I'll be out playing in the snow this weekend!

    waist size

I'll measure the waist size this evening. Considering the "age" of these knickers, the waist will probably be just that. None of this "at your hip line" nonsense. I do know they don't fit me anymore. Probably need more skiing...

I got home late last night, and didn't get the measurement, so stand by everyone.

OK kids, I measured the inside waist band, and it's 31 inches around. The size label says "12" not "14". This does drive home that sizing has changed over time. My guess that they'd fit like a current size 10 (or 8) is correct.

Also, they're made in the style of men's slacks - there's a seam up the back waist band, so if needed the waist could be easily (for some ) be let out or taken in.

WHO wants to give them a home? Will ship after Christmas (probably)

The waist works for me. Do you have a hip measurement? I'm pear shaped so I'd need around a 42".

Sorry Dar, seems we're built about the same. I can get them on, but not zipped, and I have 42 inch hips. (How did that happen? I HATE my slowing down metabolism!)

    Next person?

I have 42" hips too. The knickers are too small for me as well!

    Thumbs up Zen's the WINNER!

Looks like you win the prize Zen! PM me with your mailing/shipping info.

If they don't fit, you're next to try to find them a home. At least my knickers will get to play in the snow.
