Forgot to say I did 15km on the trainer. The scenery was lovely - I was watching the food channel - all about Christmas cookies....

I did 28 miles on yet another chilly day but at least not as windy as yesterday. Wind was out of the east, so it when it comes off the ocean like that it's pretty damp and miserable. I debated doing just 2 more miles around the neighborhood but by then I was just too cold.

I am madly trying madly to get my 2500 miles in at Bike Journal. I figure I have about about 8 opportunities left to ride between now and the end of the year, and maybe 2 of those days will be raining (or snowing - nah not likely) or sleeting - that's more like it but I still have almost 200 miles to go. It is going to be really tight to get those miles in unless we have a couple of 50o sunny weekdays in which case I will have to take the morning off from work and get my miles in. Sigh. Even with all my heaviest cold weather bike gear I'm riding longer than I did last winter, but I still get cold after a couple of hours. Maybe if I add a down vest I can stay out a little longer?

Hmmm....way too cold to bike today- about 15 F this morning, high for the day of only about 22 or so....sheesh!
We didn't even get any decent snow- just some yucky sleety stuff and some snowflakes blowing around. cold.....
(I did go for my fitness walk this morning though, the usual 3.6 miles)

It would have been a great day to ride but the rain and strong winds kept me inside However, I did put the trainer to use and managed to pedal away 23.75 miles while I watched VH1 music video countdown and the last half of a Bon Jovi concert on A&E. I then retired to the couch (after a shower and breakfast).

Had a strange ride yesterday. I had to take a decongestant around 3:30 am, and I was still groggy when I headed out around 7:00. For the first half of the ride, I felt like my body was sort of disconnected--it was working like a machine, but I couldn't really feel it. Nice to know that my body has keyed into cycling, though. And it left my brain free to focus on staying focused.

Oh, and it's hot here. Summer has arrived.

Hi all - newbie here and was hoping someone would start a Sunday ride thread...or I'd start one

I've been down for a week trying to speed through a cold and couldn't take it anymore. Went on a short ride, 12.5m but it took me an hour!! Guess my body was still feeling the cold because I just couldn't move. It was in the mid-30's and sunny, really an ideal day for a ride.

When I got home I passed out for about an hour but felt fine after the nap, thankfully. This is my second cold this season. The last one took nearly 6 weeks to be out of my body and I think the fact that I kept biking and running through it had a lot to do with it dragging on for so long.

    And so it begins....

DH and I had the bag packed to head to the LBS for the sunday a.m. shop ride. But we both wimped out.....DH said "I don't mind being a slug today." So....he patched a hole in the ceiling with some sheetrock putty, and I did my "Sweating Buckets" Spinerval DVD while on the rollers. Then we borrowed a friend's rug shampooer and cleaned carpets. Woohoo! Fun stuff, I tell ya!

Lisa- I noticed you are only 60 something miles ahead of me. There is hope I can catch you and pass you before the end of the year.
