Dear Flyby, my secret sister. Your very impressively sized package arrived today.
(this is my husband's and my birthday week)
    "Did you order this?"
"no - do you know the name on the return address?"
    "no"
    "Idaho?"
"You don't know what this is?"

INSIDE were some of the most BEAUTIFUL potatoes I have EVER SEEN fresh from Idaho!!! and Huckleberry Jam, where I spent a Christmas Holiday, the last as a single person. Raleighdon and I had just started dating, so he was not invited. We each pined away for each other that Christmas, but Cascade was SO BEAUTIFUL.

I really appreciate the book, we will read it and pass it on (I wanted to read it!) It's Lance's book it's not about the bike AND some tea, AND some nice shopping bags.
Interestingly enough, she also sent me some dry hashbrowns! We'll try those for breakfast VERY SOON.
Flyby, you might not know it, but I lived in Idaho for almost 10 years, met my DH there and had my first child. Your gifts from Idaho really touched me. Thanks!
and thanks for the Montana Waterbottle!

and all this on top of the cute bike teeshirt!!!

I am so glad that you like all of your goodies. I had a lot of fun figuring out what to put in the package.

Where in Idaho did you live?

I love living here. I enjoy the open space, the scenery, the fishing, the mountains, the recreation, and the people. Where I live, I can drive two hours in any direction and be somewhere spectacular - Yellowstone National Park in one direction, Sun Valley resort in another, Salmon River area in another, a beautiful lake called Bear Lake in another, the state capital of Utah is about three hours away, and the state capital of Idaho is about four hours away. It is such a treat to have that much fun waiting right around the corner.

Payette Lake was a beautiful experience this summer and I am glad that you got the opportunity to stay there. I have been there twice now. The first experience was with a camp for adults who were mentally ill - it was a blast. That would be a great place to pine away for a man!! Did you ride you bike around the lake? We didn't bring bikes this summer because we took a van and to save on gas and had it packed to the ceiling with the tent and other camping stuff for the five of us. I don't think we could have fit a rubber snake in the back if we tried!!!

    Have a great day!

Flyby, I lived first in Boise then in Eagle (before they allowed growth and subdividing of farm properties)
I lived in the center of a working 50 acre farm in a tiny rental house, on floating feather road. My driveway was 500 feet long. When they grew corn I had absolute privacy. No neighbors either.
THat's where Raleighdon and I lived the first year of our marriage. And before that, when gas was cheap, I spent all my free time cavorting about Idaho, both in an old volkswagen and also hiking. We drove everywhere; to all corners of the state. It was a great place to be a young adult; I was able to afford to get a horse - pasture was cheap.
I'm surprised you didn't send me an Idaho Spud candy bar, but i'm glad you didn't; they're gross!

CC, maybe it's on the same boat as the package you sent to Italy! I find it outrageous how slow international mail delivery CAN be.
Your time in Idaho sounds like so much fun. I love the mental picture of you cruising around exploring the state - ah, to be free of the responsibilities of work and kids and have that time to do whatever one wants to do, when one wants to do it!

    Eagle is HUGE now.
    Flybye
Flybye, I'm glad i left before all the foothills got covered with houses. We had goats and chickens and for a while, I even had horses in my back yard. I took days off from work and just rode my horse down the street along (and sometimes through) the potato fields.
we got our VW stuck in mud near Sweet, Idaho, and got guns pointed at us in Rome, Oregon (because we looked like HIPPIES!) lots of good memories!

CC- Sorry I was on an extended vacation and returned home to a wonderful surprise!! The calendar will be hanging in my cubicle and I love the very cool tote. I have a cold and the tea looks like it will do the trick. After that I think I can use the pampering kit as I am in need of pampering! My cold office always sends me looking for hot chocolate and this week I need the little stress guy!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful gift.

I want to thank my SS for the goodies!!! The cool ornaments (from Kentucky) and the yummy edible stuff. The chocolate horseshoe is so cute that I don't want to eat it! I have the kitty door hanger thingy on my pantry door in the kitchen so that I can be alerted if someone is sneaking snacks! My lips thank you too. Such thoughtful gifts, and I love kitties (I have two)!

To my SS, the package is going out tomorrow!

I totally agree that they are gross! I actually WAS going to send you ONE just because I know people who like them and thought I'd take the chance - lucky for you, the local Wal-Mart only sold them by the case and they were $17.84. I think they are a disgrace to chocolate!!!

Eagle is HUGE now. It is bigger than Blackfoot, which really isn't that hard to beat, but I can't believe how fast it has grown. Boise, too. My sister lives in Boise. I love to visit her there but I also can't wait to get home to the peacefulness of where I live - our population is roughly 17,000 but we are spread out over a huge area. The actual "city" is small. I live at one edge of the city limits. To get to the other side of the city on my bike takes about 10 minutes. Nice.

Have a great day! I have lots to do today - better get to movin'!

OK, I received my box of goodies in the mail today..from Mass I think..I"m not good with abbreviations of states..and by scanning back I think Tygab is my SS. THere was no name only a return address. MY gu and sharkbites were froze. (It is like 18degrees, windy and snowing presently and they were out on the mailbox for a little too long). I have never tried the sharkies before, am excited as I've heard about them. Havent' tried that flavor of GU before. Gosh, I wish spring would get here..the water bottle and socks are perfect. One can never have too many blinkies (mine received damage from my last ride when it fell off so its perfect). THanks so much for the thoughtful gifts--they will be well used in the upcoming cycling year...thanks again..
