As you know I am a wool nut. BUT....I love the Louis Garneau balaclavas from TE. They are so comfy and stretchy and thin and silky. But they do a good job of keeping me warm. I would not really want a wool balaclava on my face, no matter how soft. I have 2 of the LG ones, -I wear one when it's cold, and I wear both when it's well below freezing. They slip on nicely over each other!

well, my favorites are the type that under armour and Nike have. the portion that goes over the chin and mouth is a separate peice of fabric and it's easier to move it down to your chin. It is very thin. It is made of thin polyester wicking fabric.

They used to have it in tan and camo green, but I don't see it now. I got mine at D*ck's
I have a Nike one too. I actually like it better although it's made exactly the same. It's just made of that Sphere dimpled fabric.
