It is Devils Food Cake with red food coloring to make it a deep red. My husband had it as his groom's cake at our wedding- delicious!! And no, it wasn't an armadillo (if you saw Steel Magnolias you know what I am talking about).

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I just pulled the Angelfood cake out of the oven. We're not close to any of our family so we're doing a neighborhood meal next door. It should be great fun complete with some bike talk since my neighbor is one of those crazy cycling people.

Oh temptation! Turns out one of the neighbors that is moving is now going to Jamaica and there is a tour ride coming up in January there. It's nice to dream even if I won't be going.
I had a nice T-day even though dh was absent most of the time and the dream of riding Jamaica is nice. The angelfood cake turned out brilliant in case anyone was curious. My first ever!

Congrats on the angel food cake! That's one of those things I cannot make - I've tried. They always fall and come out about an inch tall.
Our sweet potato contribution to the feast was lovely, however. Not much unhealthy stuff added, and I don't think anyone in the family missed it
DH absolutely loves turkey, so I roasted a turkey breast when we got home last night. So, we have leftover turkey too
