You can get red velvet cake at the country store on the corner by my house. The woman (she has to be 85 years old) whose family owns the store makes it every week and will make a whole one on request.

Southern Belle,
I tried to send you an entire layer of the cake- like a frisbee!
I had started icing the cake, myhusband called me into the den to hear a news story- I sat down for a 'minute'- we heard a splat. - I went back inthe kitchen & found that an wntire layer had skated off - the cake was still warm - the cream cheese frosting was melty & oozy- and zoom!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

It is Devils Food Cake with red food coloring to make it a deep red. My husband had it as his groom's cake at our wedding- delicious!! And no, it wasn't an armadillo (if you saw Steel Magnolias you know what I am talking about). Originally Posted by RoadRaven
