    Pilates DVDs?

Can anybody recommend a DVD for a beginner in Pilates? I'll be taking some classes, but want to augment with some at home work. Also - I don't want to plan my life around pilates. I already plan it around the weather report!

I have and like Pilates The Authentic Way by Dina Matty & Keft Burdell. I got it on a discount shelf at Borders earlier this year. I'm too tired right now to right out more of a review, but it's calm, focused, pleasant, and comes with an instructional booklet, as well.

I found even doing just the Modified Basic Mat (less than 15 minutes) section that was targeted at beginners made a noticeable difference. There are modified basic, basic, and intermediate exercises on the cd.

I just got introduced to Stott Pilates via some workshops and really, really like it. The only DVD I have of theirs is the Sunrise Workout. It's really good, but gentle and easy for first thing in the morning.

I like the Living Arts/Gaiam DVDs, but they don't have near as much instructional detail as Stott.

I guess my answer would depend a lot on what kind of training your instructor has. The more you're getting in your classes, the less specific your DVDs will need to be.
