    Thanks for sharing! Stories like this keep my spirits up too. Every once in awhile we need to be reminded of the wonderful benefits that cycling bring us and how fortunate we are to be able to engage in this activity.

    I'm reminded of this every time I ride with the club. Nearly all of the people I ride with are over 60 and they kicked my rear the first few times I rode with them. I remember calling a friend after I came back early from the ride and telling her a group of senior citizens just kicked my a$$. We had a good laugh but it really made me realize that if I keep at it I could be the senior kicking a thirtysomething's hiney.

    I'm so lucky to have found the club I ride with. They are very willing to help me and a great source of information. One of the members holds the record as the oldest man to climb Mt Rainier at 84 and he puts over 100 miles a week on his bike. I hope I can say the same in 50 years!

    Best Guess - Sacramento Bee. The article mentioned the American River, which flows past Sacramento. Did some fish seining on that river...
