Sag Wagon
A car or truck that picks up or otherwise assists riders who have had to stop riding, either due to fatigue, injury, or mechanical failure. This is primarily a touring term, racers call the corresponding vehicle the "broom wagon."
Some people believe that the term derives from the verb "sag", others maintain that it is an acronym for "Support And Gear."
We have lazily adopted the term to include the rest stops that are provided along the way.

Nice pix, Silvers. Looks like it was a great ride. BTW, do you always wear matching jerseys, or do you just save them for "special occasions"??![]()
CC - don't think we eat only junk on big rides! Although many rides have their expected "treats" at certain stops - cookies, or - on a few rides I've been on, pie and ice cream is a favored treat - most rest stops feed you more healthful fair such as bagels, bananas, apple slices (a recent ride I did had big slices of peaches! Oh, what a treat that was!), granola bars, peanut butter and jelly on whole wheat, and GORP (good old raisins and peanuts). However, gnoshing on a bagel or a banana usual doesn't merit a picture, as it's much more pedestrian that a big ol' fun cookie!

No we don't always wear matching jerseys. We did only have these two sets. Now we have the matching Hilly jerseys. On big group rides, I think that having the matching jerseys indicates that we are riding together.
People will say, "Oh is that your husband back there?" Or "I saw the other Alabama jersey at the rest stop." Or maybe they will accomodate us better by not cutting one of us off and helping us pull back together.
I wear my jerseys that match his all the time, but I notice that he only wears his when I ask. He seems to prefer solid color jerseys.
Agreed! They do have healthy foods. apples, bananas, oranges, veggies, bagels, etc. but not good photo opps. I do usually eat very healthy. And I usually eat my own food, but I do like to splurge on ice cream and cookies on big rides where top performance is not required.

TrekJeni here to weigh in on the weekend!
There was no coaxing of Silver, she was a willing partcipant to the worshipping of "All that is not good for you!"
I wish I had my camera out but at the end of Day 2, many people witnessed Silver take two Pringles and stick them in her mouth to look like a duck before wolfing them down (I don't think she even chewed)
More later when I have a chance, trying to catch up on some work here in the lab.
Silver and Mr. Silver ROCK. This was the best Hilly yet.
Mary - we saw your picture on the big screen during the safety talk Friday night.

Whoa... that FoJ, is that Amanda from Columbus who broke her collarbone in a race earlier this summer? I know her!!! Two degrees of separation, woot!
