Congrats! Sounds like you did very well. But I think you need to forget Kleenex and learn how to do snot rockets.

Great report, and congrats on beating your goal time! Your report made me feel (a little!) what it would be like to do a race of that distance, so thanks for giving me a taste!

    Awesome job, KSH!!!!
CONGRATS!!!! I'm so very happy for your race! Sounds like it was a GREAT day out there overall. You did what you could, and you sure had a great run considering your IT issue and the heat. The heat will just KILL a run on a HIM.
And being sore- it's amazing how sore you are after something like that. Weird, huh?

Very proud of you, and your race! Again- congrats. Now get some rest...

    FINALLY!! SHEESH!!!
Your fans have been waiting there missy! (tap tap tap of the foot).. hee hee hee
You know how proud we are of you! Someday I'm going to meet you in person, and hopefully it's at an IM where we can speed walk together!
I've done enough stand alone marys, I'm done with the whole marathon thing and I'm thinking speed walking sounds mighty fine! My old bod is getting too old for this long distance running thing I think..
    But BACK TO YOU...
FABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS!!!!!! I'm soooo stoked for you! Such a great accomplishment! And I LOVED the shirt! Spencer always says that to me! He saw it on a sign once, and it stuck with him...

Now as for the IT band. If it's not responding to therapy- stretching, icing all that good stuff, get it checked out. We swore that Tony had an IT issue when really it was his meniscus. Put him back a good 4 months in lost training time. It never hurts to have things checked out....

    Well again- CONGRATS! You RAWK!!!!!!!

I do plan on being there for IMAZ 08. I won't be racing though, but hopefully we can meet in person at some point the day before the race. If things are too crazy.

Yea, I have a race walking clinic to attend in December. I want to learn the technique and see if it's for me. One guy on the course said his Mom walks a 10 minute mile. HELLO! I couldn't even run that... so who knows, this might work out to be really good.

My IT band doesn't hurt now... but I know if I don't start doing core work and stretching before I start running again, it's sure to return. But I'm thinking that by switching to race walking the problem might resolve itself.

Thanks for the kind words BTW! I do appreciate it!

Congratulations! Great job pushing through the IT band troubles and finishing what you'd trained so long and hard to do. I don't know if I could've taken on a run like that after not running for a month - that's mental toughness. Awesome time - you should be proud.
