18 miles of beautiful riding weather. Unusually warm and sunny for this time of year. I got up rather late and had a later start than usual, trying to get home in time to start lunch for DH. I finished my ride and realized I needed only 12 more miles to break 2000 on my new bike.

I get the record for shortest ride. I met a frequent riding partner a couple of miles from my house and we set out for our usual 30-40 miler. A mile and a half later he broke a spoke in his rear wheel, big. Twang! So I rode back for my car to run him and his bike home. I just wasn't into riding by myself after that. Seven miles. Which was enough for me to justify not doing any cardio after I taught my strength classes yesterday afternoon

Actually ... my commute ride is shorter: 8 km. So your ride was both longer and more exciting.

Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.
