we broke the mount on one of our polar cs200cad and took it back to DEAR LBS and they replaced it no problem. they just gave us one out of another box and THEY sent in the bad one to polar. no time lost at all. they even set up my polar that i hadnt bought from them, so when it came time to get one for DH i definitely got it from them. is it ok to plug a local bike shop on this forum?

    I hate Polar

I've owned two. Both quit reading after a few months. New batteries didn't help. I tightened the chest band, bought contact gel, nothing. Contacting Polar was a joke. Nobody responded.

I recently bought a Sigma PC15 through Amazon. I LOVE IT. Easy to use, gives me calorie readings, all the heart rate zone readings AND it actually works! I think I paid ~$60, which was cheaper than the Polar I was looking at. You can't accidently erase your information while you're reviewing it - a problem I had with Polar. It gives you lots of opportunities to change your mind.

Oh, and it has a mounting gizmo for your bike handlebars.

To train a dog, you must be more interesting than dirt.
