I also use the FlashFlo Camelbak waistpack. I like it better than having something on my shoulders and back. I never even notice it on a ride, in part because it doesn't hold as much water, so doesn't weigh me down. It's best for shorter rides (up to 2 hours) since it doesn't hold as much, but you can also supplement it with water bottles. On a really long ride, I'll use water in the Camelbak and Accelerade in a water bottle (or two).

I love mine, however be aware of what color it is. I live in Colorado where it is sunny most of the time. I used to have a darker one and I noticed it tended to heat up the water in the bladder faster then in a lighter color one. Nothing like drinking warm water on a hot day 60 miles out. YUCK

I used one for the HHH this year. I was glad I did. Helped me stay hydrated. The biggest downfall is that they start smelling funky. I doused mine in Fabreeze. Smells much better.

    smelling funky

i sterilise the bladder with milton (used here in uk for baby bottles ... when really everyone should breastfeed!!)
i also but the outer "rucksack" in the washing machine on a 40 degree cycle along with my other cycle clothes... comes out smelling sweet as a daisy!

Hey, Emily - I do the exact same thing. Now tell me that the Accelerade flavor that you like is orange, and I will really freak!

Tep, I use the Catalyst. Smaller, but is where I ride it's easy enough to refill. I hydrate better if it's right there, unlike the bottle, where I have to slow, or stop pedaling, because my bike handling skills aren't the greatest!

No freaking needed -- I haven't tried orange! The one I have is blue-raspberry, and I'm not crazy about it (it's okay), but I have a huge tub of it I got on sale, so I'm using it up!

Orange is a little too sweet.for my tastes. I like the lemonade (in a water bottle, and use the CB to carry plain old H20)
