I don't have it at my fingertips at the moment, but I think its Haynes manual - the same people who make all those car repair guides. It's my favorite bike repair book so far!

I really want to learn more about maintaining and working on my bike. Any good book recommendations on getting started?

Zinn and the Art of Road Bike Maintenance (or MTB maintenance depending on your bike).
Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.

I don't have any advice, but I'm glad you posted this question, because I'm looking for the same thing. One of my LBS's offers maintenance classes in the early spring (like February), so I'm thinking I'll take one of those as well (wish they'd offer one sooner!).
Good luck!
