That's funny- you can tell he's hot-rodding it already....he's in his big gear ring while you're in your middle gear ring.![]()
Tell him not to mash up hills too much or he'll blow out his knees! (just ask Mr. Silver).

Yesterday we took them out to a neighborhood that has streets, but the houses are not finished. Lots of hills and just a good place to ride, we THOUGHT.
In some areas, rain had washed a lot of sand in the roads. My bike was fishtailing and at one point I nearly lost control and almost didn't get my foot out of the power grips in time to catch myself. It was steaming hot with no breeze or shade. I told the hub that I'd had it. We needed mountain bikes for that dirt!
We left, came home and washed the sand and dirt off the bikes and took off for the rails to trails. A much better ride.
One reason he has it in the higher gear is because they did not get it all adjusted out right!!!In the lower gear ring it makes a lot of noise and grinds. He's got to get it back up there for more adjustment, but since it's an hour and a half away and not local, it will probably be next week before he can do that.

Oh Sandra, your bike is beautiful! I like his too...but I think yours is prettier!
Hmm, I would've never noticed what gear the bike was in. Remind me that people look at those things next time I take a picture of my bike![]()
Anyway, Sandra congrats to your husband!
Thank you and don't tell him, but I like my bike better too.![]()

What a gorgeous brace of bikes! Despite your first sandy adventure, you should really start having some fun on your rides together now--even though he's faster with the new wheels. See, this is why I'm kind of glad the Chief won't spring for a new, lighter bike to replace his heavy hybrid--in a stiff headwind, I can beat the pants off him.![]()
Love the look of the Brooks, btw.

Yeah! I know what you mean. Why did I try to convince him he needed to get a lighter bike!See, this is why I'm kind of glad the Chief won't spring for a new, lighter bike to replace his heavy hybrid--in a stiff headwind, I can beat the pants off him![]()

Even though HIS bike cost twice is much, mine is prettier PLUS I have the Brooks.![]()

Hey Sandra,
A couple of nice looking bikes, but I'm going to be the dissenter.... I think your DH's is awesome -- it's identical to mine!!! I brought mine home July 14th and I'm still loving (almost) every minute I spend on it.
I feel your hubby's pain about the paint that rubbed off where the hitch mounted bike rack rubbed. The exact same think happened when my Pilot came home. My DH solved the problem by wrapping duct tape where the bike & the hitch make contact. No problems since, but that mark bugs me every time I see it.
What kind of mirror do you have on your bike. That's one thing about my hybrid that I really miss. My LBS recommended one that hooks on my glasses, but I really want one that mounts on the handlebars.
