Ah, another long distance rider added to the fold!

And all the other snails said..."Amen!"

Right now I'm tired but not too sore. The weather was pretty cool, in the low 60's with a miserable drizzle all day long. I think that might have been better than the heat and humidity we had been having earlier last week.
I don't often post on the forum but I lurk almost every day. I sure did use a lot of the tips you ladies have shared to get through those miles. Thanks so much. I rode by myself as my kids and grandkids had other things to do today. Tonight this 60 year old grandma is feeling pretty proud of herself!
    Congratulations on a great ride!!
I dont think 13.7 is slow at all - well done.

    CONGRATS!!!

The route description said "flat to moderate hills," so keeping the average you did sounds great to me!

I second Boy in a Kilt's suggestion to do some light exercise tomorrow. Even though it seems counterintuitive, I've found that when I'm really sore the day after a big effort, if I do something like yoga it really helps alleviate the soreness a lot quicker.

WOO-HOO! I'm five years behind you and I still haven't done a 100-mile century. I've done a few metric centuries, but have yet to do the 100 miles. You absolutely ROCK! (Tell your grandkids we said that! )

And I second the suggestion to do a gentle yoga practice--really helps with recovery!

Now...time to start thinking about which century you'll do next.

    Absolutely outstanding! Way to go!

I'm with the chorus of folks who thinks that 13.7 mph is admirable for a 100 mile ride! I hope I can do as well!

Way to go! I'd take 13.7 for 100 miles. 100 miles is nothing to downplay!
It's all about the journey (my reason for riding slower)
