I remember something similar in Nashville about 20 years ago. Late night wreck on the interstate where a teenage girl sideswiped a truck while her arm was resting on the door (with the window down).

She drove a mile before she looked down and noticed that her arm was gone. In her case, it was reported that she felt no pain, but immediately went into shock when she saw what happened.

Much thanks to batsheva and Bad JuJu. I just love being on anything with two wheels. My philosophy is "two wheels are better than four." I have to admit that I don't do much street riding anymore though. Cagers are so unaware of their surroundings that it scares the crap out of me. Plus the streets are A LOT more dangerous than riding on a closed circuit race track. I was rear-ended by a drunk driver at 4:30 in the afternoon on a WEDNESDAY about three years ago. I was lucky to come out with minor injuries ... after that I decided to stay off the streets for the most part.

this has turned into a most bizarre thread, half are commiserating with the idea of losing a limb; the other half are in total denial about it and are in an orgy over the beauty of motorcycles.
