Can I be your friend, Martha

I can't have the bourbon peaches but when I was a kid we would always have spiced peaches (store bought) with our holiday meals. I loved those but don't know if they're still sold commercially.

There is no shame in eating a entire pie.
    I keep telling myself that.

Every year (well almost every year) I put up a dozen jars of spiced peaches. I almost bought peaches yesterday on my way over to the DC area, but decided they didn't look that good, and really can't do them till next weekend anyway. Definitely not a good project for hot weather.

I don't imagine there are many people left in this world that still do home canning.

Just call me Martha. No really. That's my real name.

I used to do canning and made some nice chutneys. my ill-bred family and their uncultivated taste buds never fully appreciated them

Nice work! Before I know it I'll be canning tomatoes, pears and salsa--we have a garden and three pear trees here. Hopefully by that time we'll have some cooler days so it won't be such a hot sweaty job.
