There's actually an explanation for this? I thought it was just that after the first bite there was a bit of swelling so that further bites were that much more likely. But maybe that's not it at all.

My jaw joint goes awry occaisionally and I bite my cheeks.

Have a nice little bite splint that I wear at night to protect my jaw joint.

I bite the inside of my cheeks when I sleep at night, but I also sleep on the side of my face/stomach a LOT.
    I enjoy it all.

Well, yes. The insides of my cheeks have the visible imprints of all that biting over the years. Not only that, I didn't realize that my tongue has teeth marks on the sides too. My acupuncturist (Pika) pointed out that the teeth marks indicate a swollen tongue, which, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine is a sign of low spleen energy.

I have no idea what the biting the insides of my cheeks means, though.

Avoid "cold" and sweet foods. And get acupuncture.

    Is your spleen okay, Mimi?

Who found the teeth marks on your tongue

What does the spleen do and how is that in relation to ones tongue?

I actually did have problems with biting my cheek and my tongue but that was all to do with facial abnormality (if anyone dares snicker, I will look defiant!). I had jaw reconstructive surgery last year and no more bite marks.

You mean it had nothing to do with that dagger in your mouth?
