Wow, it's so pretty! Thanks for the sharing the stories and the pics. I haven't been out east much at all. Last fall I went to Greenville, SC, and was amazed at how beautiful it was. Now I want to go to NC too. (I might add that you don't really look like you have that much weight to loose, you look great!)
The best part about going up hills is riding back down!

What beautiful pics, thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had a great time. Its nice to know one can go on a vacation/weekend getaway to a bike friendly area. As far as the dropping weight thing I think you look great.

    Have a great time CA!

I'm glad we didn't decide to try to go then, as we're closing on our sailboat purchase on Thursday and spending all weekend on the boat, getting to know her & her systems, settling in, and making some of the minor repairs suggested by the surveyor. We don't normally travel on holiday weekends, but it was unavoidable this time. I think it will be worth it.

I hope the riding is great at the BI. It's supposed to be cooler this weekend too, and will be even more so up there. Can't wait for a report!

P.S. We're taking our Fridays on the boat and riding them back to get our car after sailing our boat to the marina. It's about a 15-mile sail on the Neuse River, but only 10 miles back on the road by bike.

    Emily-

That's so exciting!!! I know you'll have a lovely time! Congratulations again on your boat - I know you'll love her. Does she have a name??

Out of curiosity - were you planning on sailing when you got your Fridays, or is it a happy coincidence??

    CA

PS - We just got back from a week at the beach (Long Beach)- not much biking for me, but LOTS of kayaking. Saw baby sea turtles on the beach being "launched" (i.e. led down to the water with a flashlight) and 2 adult dolphins with a baby in the water on our last kayak excursion.

Yes, her name is Logos -- we're just keeping the name the previous owners had as it is nicely painted on both sides. It would be a hassle to sand it all down and have it repainted with something else. Maybe someday, but for now, we can live with Logos. Check her out on my blog.

Happy coincidence! We bought our Fridays in early 2004 for a fall bike tour that year. On the way home from the bike tour in NY State, we stopped in for a day at the Annapolis Sailboat show and ended up signing up for a Learn to Sail class in Florida in December. The rest is history! We're going back to the show again this October, but to look at boat gear, not dream about boats this time!
