I rode, actually, thought how bad could it be, 4 miles in the morning and 4 miles going home IN THE WORST HEAT!
Everyone in my office made comments about how i was going to ride yesterday, when it was SO hot.
I noticed it was windy right away, with strange breezes pushing at my front tire.
my commute is roughly circular, so no matter what way the wind is blowing, i get a head wind and a tail wind on part of my ride. This time, I felt lucky
the tail wind was on my longish uphill.
To my surprise, i discovered that when it is hot, a tailwind is not always better. It felt like the air was still and muggy while I climbed up that hill.

And the heat radiated off the pavement something fierce. I made it home
none the worse for wear., er, well, a bit sweaty!

Put me down as "Did Ride" . . . 40 miles in the heat. Started at 9:00 AM finished a little past noon. Stopped at espresso stand for a strawberry jet tea. Met a friend who rode half way with me. Was 93 degrees when I finished my ride! In hindsight I should have started earlier. Like 6:00 AM!!!!!

That's the best part of my evening commute. Getting home covered in sweat and making a bee line for a nice cold shower! bikerHen

DNR for me, too. The temp hit 37C here, and although the heat was nice, the call of the ocean was stronger and I spent the day just loafing around in the water. Almost-deserted beach, water temp 20C, beer temp 4C. Ahhh...
