I rode! Of course, I started at 6.30 am (had OT today), but I rode my short ride to home (9.6 some miles), then headed back down to the chiropractor for an additional 2 miles. Not great, but when I was heading back from the chiropractor I was thinking--I should do Big Soos Creek, too. Then I realised what I was saying, and decided that yes, it really was too hot for those hills.

Teigyr, I hope it was not Tuesday's hill training that did you in .

Rode after work. There were t'storms predicted but I thought I could get in some miles before they hit. I had an awful day at work and really needed to burn off the stress/zen out. It was very humid, increasingly cloudy as the miles passed. One positive about impending rain is that it keeps people inside, off the trail. Anyway, it eventually started raining, so I decided to cut my ride a skosh short, logging in 26 miles instead of my usual weekday 29. My legs and arms were fairly soaked by the time I got home, but I've definitely been out in worse. No thunder or lightning either--just rain. Should be worth it, though, as the rain was brining in a cold front to chase out the high heat/humidity.

I rode yesterday, knowing it may be my last chance before my century on Sunday. Did 31.5 miles, felt sluggish but kept a decent pace. I ran Tuesday night and my quads were feeling every hill last night. Tonight I need to clean house and DH is going to clean the bikes. I am hoping to sneak in a 15 miler but I know that probably won't happen.

We extended an offer to let a good friend stay with us until she can find her own apartment (she is moving to the area). I don't know how the new housemate will effect the amount of riding, I feel bad leaving her alone all the time when she has no friends in town yet. It should only be a few weeks though.

    Two things:

    1) The times when you're gone would be great times for her to go to a class at the gym on a visitor's pass, or go to that poetry reading, or whatever, to make new friends!

    2) Borrow her a bike, of course!
