Hey Kim, If you're doing the 100k, I think you have to wait til 8am to register - unless you are registering the night before in San Jose. I'm coming from Walnut Creek (right next to ya) and not looking forward to the 1 1/2 hr + drive. I'll be getting up between 4:30 and 5:00am. Ugh!

I think we'll be there between 7:30 and 8:00. I'd like to take off by 8, but we'll see how it goes. I'm going to have to find a way to port the cookies on the ride! I was thinking about trying a Camelbak and I know they have those bungie things on them. Maybe that will be a good incentive for people to pass me... the cookies hanging from my back... pass me, grab a cookie without knocking me over.

Is anyone else here going to pre-register the night before?

You're right, "The Pilot" both sounds better and is more accurate. Back when he was riding mega-miles, he had to be on the road exactly at the hour the course officially opened. Very aggravating to a lazy person like me.

In the many years I worked registration, we never checked starting times, so show up when you want. Heck, they don't even check you in any more!

I may have to bail on tomorrow. My 5 year old has the stomach flu (started Tuesday night) and he's just not getting over it very quickly. He still can only hold down liquids and very small bites of crackers. I don't want to leave a sick kid with a sitter all morning. We'll see how he does tonight. I'll still go down and pick up my registration info. Maybe Blaine will stay home and I'll ride. We'll see.

The weather today is insane! I wish it would settle down! I'm going to register for the ride in a little while and I'd prefer to not be blown away! Maybe I'll send Blaine.

Nah, it sounds like it should be easy to register. My friend wimped out on the 100mi. I'm still gonna attempt it though. Hope to see you tomorrow - I'll need those cookies!

I'll be starting my drive over in just a little bit. I left work later than I wanted to because of a report that was due (gggrrrr), so I don't think I'll make the early registration. Cross your fingers Pacheco Pass is somewhat calm. My little car is going to get blown around somethin' silly, I just know it.

Hopefully I'll see some of you tomorrow. I'm staying at the Comfort Inn in Gilroy tonight, dreaming of Slinkedog's cookies....
