    I stick mine in the bathtub & wash the whole thing under the faucet any time the straps start to get crispy. I usually do it right before a ride so that everything is cool & damp when I venture out ionto the 90+ temps
    Because not every fast cyclist is a toothpick...

    Ooo good idea to help beat the heat. I have to wash my helmet - I was getting horrible pimples on my chin (where the straps lie) until I started washing my helmet regularly. I use antibacterial hand soap on the straps, and the entire helmet gets a good rinse in the process.
