Maybe wear a head scarf, buff or one of those coolmax headsweats under the helmet. I wash my pads often and put my helmet in the dishwasher for a good cleaning every now and then!

    Cheers.

Dishwasher? I can't imagine the high heat would be good for the foam in the helmet. Definitely not the dry cycle. My dishwasher heats the water beyond what the water tank does. There's no "cool" setting.

Is there any rash occuring? You can have something that has never irrated you start to really bug you (guess that's why the divorce rate is high). Seriously though, maybe you just need a new helmet.

    I understand your pain!

I know what you mean. I have VERY sensitive skin (rosacea) to the point where sometimes even my sunglasses will cause a rash. To keep my forehead happy I wear a flat sweatband under my helmet - it is made by HeadSweats - I have bought them at REI and LLBean for $12. Since they are flat, I don't even feel them.
    Hope this helps,
    Trish

With me every time I put my helmet on my head itches. It's the same with any hat I wear. In my case it's psychological

Actually it may not be a psychological thing. I get hives from pressure on my skin. Putting a hat or helmet on definitely puts some pressure on your hair and where it contacts your skin. Just a thought!

1+ on the headband or do rag suggestion. I get itchy from the combo of sunscreen, sweat and pads on the helmet. I always wear a do rag under the helmet. It doesn't completely eliminate the problem, but it helps a lot.

It is psychological with me because it's as soon as I put on any kind of headwear. At least with cycle helmets you can scratch through the vents Honest. There's nothing running around in my hair...really
